Meet The Blogger: Meet Narmai of Piggieluv

Welcome back to another edition of Meet  The Blogger! Today's blogger is Narmai of

Piggieluv.
I first discover Narmai on Facebook & I was just blown away by her talent!  Seriously she's awesome & amazing.

What made you start a blog?

Initially I just wanted a space to dump my pics, like a diary. I got ambitious when I saw other people making beautiful nail art and I wanted to be that good too! That kicked it into high gear.

How long have you been blogging?

Since May 2012

What would you say makes your blog unique?

I have a crazy mind... it's ridiculous sometimes what I come up with, things you can't even wear on your nails in real life, but I make it anyways.

What's your favorite part of having a blog?

My dad loves bragging about my blog and he will show anyone my pics, even sales clerks or people he meets on the street. He might be my biggest fan :-p

Have you ever reviewed a product that has become something you use all the time?

Definitely!

What would you say is the downside of blogging?

Constantly feeling like I'm not doing well enough, that people might not like me or what I make. I know it doesn't matter and I should do it for me, and I do, but there's always that annoying little voice in the back of my head...

Do you have a least favorite post that you've written?

Probably a bunch of them. Sometimes I have REALLY uninspired nail art that I'd rather not post but I do it anyways.

What is something you have to have while writing a blog post? Examples music, watching netflicks, drinking tea ect

TV shows, I canNOT paint without something to watch! It keeps my head busy while my hands work. TV shows are easier than movies because I get to recognize the voices so I don't need to watch all the time, just listen.

Do you think your blog has changed of the years?

I know for sure it has.

Are you married? Do you have any kids and/or pets?

Not married or in a relationship but I LOVE my pet rats! They cheer me up every day and oh yeah they're super adorable too :-p

Any advice for new bloggers?

Advice, advice... It sounds corny but stay your own course. It's easy to get swept up in having to be 'big' or important, or getting lots of press samples. Try to stay true to what you want your blog to be because that's the only thing that will make you truly happy & successful!

Thanks so much for being part of Meet The Blogger Narmai! You can find her at her blog & the following social media pages.

Meet The Blogger: Meet Kiersten of Ramblings Of A Subscription Addict

It's Tuesday so that means it's time for Meet The Blogger!
Today's Blogger is Kiersten of
I LOVE her blog! She's one of my absolute faves & I'm thrilled to have her here today.
Also for her selfie she's a mermaid, how awesome is that!

What make you start a blog?

I wanted to share what I found through subscriptions and nail polish brands with my friends and family. I initially only shared blog posts on my personal news feed, which I rarely do now! I liked being able to show people what was out there outside of what was available in my smaller hometown.

How long have you been blogging?

Just over two years!

What would you say makes your blog unique?

I review subscriptions and makeup as well as nail polishes. I do reviews on men’s boxes (which my husband loves), pet boxes (which my puppy loves), and still do both indie and mainstream brands of makeup and nail polish!

What's your favorite part of having a blog?

Can I say having an excuse to buy a ton of makeup and nail polish, because that’s it. :D

Have you ever reviewed a product that has become something you use all the time?

Yes! For non-nail things -  Don’t Despair, Repair by Briogeo. It’s this amazing deep conditioner that I first got through either Birchbox or Ipsy and then received through other subscriptions, but now I buy a full-size as well. For nail things - Heather’s Hues Cutie-cle Oil. It’s a new product that I’ve tried and I’ve fallen so in love with it.

What would you say is the downside of blogging?

Comparing myself to others. It’s not something that I try to do often, but I do occasionally do it and don’t really like how it makes me feel. I know that everyone has their own styles and their own situations, but sometimes I do compare my blog to others’.

Do you have a least favorite post that you've written?

Sadly, this just popped up in my ‘On This Day.’ It was my first review of Fairytale Finish’s subscription where I had really bad nail shape, really poor angles, and I really needed some help with cleaning/top coat/everything.

What is something you have to have while writing a blog post? Examples music, watching netflicks, drinking tea eat

I watch Twitch or YouTube. I’m a geek at heart and I love Minecraft and Sims, so I usually am watching one of those games being played or live-streamed. Recently, I’ve been watching a streamer named Sevadus because he streams for so long, it takes up the majority of my ‘work time.'

Do you think your blog has changed of the years?

Definitely, I have grown so much stronger as a writer, a photographer (I started out taking pictures on our coffee table!), and as a nail swatcher/blogger.

Are you married? Do you have any kids and/or pets?

Yes! Husband and I have been married for 1 1/2 years and I have my rescue lab mix (we don’t know what with) named Trumpet who is 1 1/2 years old. We rescued him from a shelter that was having an adoption drive at PetSmart a year ago this past February and he’s been our baby ever since.

This question is optional :

What was it like when you found out you were getting your first press samples?

I giggled and did a happy dance, then freaked out slightly (no shame). It’s one thing when you have an item that you have purchased that you need to photograph/swatch/review, but it makes you feel like you need to be even more serious and make sure everything is perfect.

Any advice for new bloggers?

Don’t stop trying! My only regret is that for about four months after getting married and moving to a new city, I didn’t really blog because I just didn’t have the time or room to have my things set up. I really fell behind during those few months and now don’t ever want to stop!

No don't get me it came out ok but I feel like it looks like a Halloween mani & that the triangles look like poop. Or Hershey's Kisses. But that's just me, I could be wrong.

Rainbow Rhinestones with OPI

Granted I'm a indie polish lover, but I do like a couple of mainstream brands. One of those happens to be OPI, which is the brand I'll be using today.

The color I'm using today is Oy-Another Polish Joke! By OPI Nail Lacquer.

A warm yellow/gold shimmer.

I started off using 3 coats of Oy-Another Polish Joke then 1 coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat. Once dry using tweezers I grabbed a rhinestone put a dab of topcoat then applied to my nail. I repeated this until there was 2 rhinestones on each nail. Lastly I applied 1 more coat of HK Girl Topcoat to seal the rhinestones.

Inside lighting
Like the sparkle? I like the rainbow of colors that the rhinestones bring. Plus I think this was the perfect colors to use with the rhinestones.

Meet The Blogger: Meet Tiffany of Polish And Paws

Welcome to another edition of Meet The Blogger! Today's blogger is Tiffany of  Polish & Paws

Can I just saw I want to be like her when I grow up? I mean look at that background in her selfie!  Wanna adopt me Tiffany?

What made you start a blog? A friend, blogger MonisMani.com, encouraged me to start blogging. I had aquired a large collection of polish in a short period of time and loved the idea of sharing it with people.

How long have you been blogging? Just over 2 years, I started blogging in May 2014.

What would you say makes your blog unique? I blog a wide variety of brands. One thing that has been important to me is to blog low cost brands as well as higher end brands and indies. Its easy to find lots of swatches for higher end well known brands; but with new brands and budget brands its much more difficult to find a good selection of swatches.

What's your favorite part of having a blog? I love being able to improve over time; adjusting and changing my swatch photos to appeal to readers and makers. And I'm not going to lie - I absolutely love it when I post in a polish group and a reader puts together my name and my blog name and they have a "fangirl moment." Those are the moments when I really feel like I've been successful.

Have you ever reviewed a product that has become something you use all the time?

Last year I reviewed a few polishes from Bohemian Polish. She also sent her new cuticle oil in Butterbeer scent. I knew within minutes I was hooked. To this day its my favorite cuticle oil and I always keep a bottle or two on hand.

What would you say is the downside of blogging?

The downside for me is the emotional aspect of it. I have to continually remind myself that its not personal when I get dropped by a brand or passed over for someone else. I pour so much of who I am into my blog that it can be challenging to separate the two.

Do you have a least favorite post that you've written?

Aside from some of my very first posts, which are nothing short of embarassing; I was recently reviewing what I thought were going to be water decals and they ended up being full nail 3D stickers.

They didn't fit my nails right and would not dissolve in acetone, so the end mani was a mess but it was the best I could do with them.

What is something you have to have while writing a blog post? Examples music, watching netflicks, drinking tea ect

I like to listen to 80's hits, I always have a Sobe Lifewater and sometimes a snack. And one of my dogs is usually snuggled up behind me in my chair, which naturally is the best part.

Do you think your blog has changed of the years? Yes, it's definitely changed a lot over the years. I worked as a web designer for over 10 years so adding to, improving upon, and upgrading my blog itself comes naturally to me. I've also upgraded from an iphone to a DSLR which made a huge difference for my photos. And most recently I have upgraded my lighting. Next stop - videos!

Are you married? Do you have any kids and/or pets? I have been married to my husband Billy for 15 years. We have 5 furry children (dogs) who mean the sun and the moon to us.

What was it like when you found out you were getting your first press samples? It felt very surreal. I didn't even think about press samples when I started my blog, but at some point it feels like a rite of passage. Like a form of validation.

Any advice for new bloggers?

I would say make sure you really want to put the time and energy into it, as in all likelihood it will take more time and energy than expected. Never let press samples be the reason for your blog. Blog from the heart, and love what you're doing.

Thanks for being part of Meet The Blogger Tiffany! You can find her at her blog & the following social media pages.
