Owls Galore with Nail Hoot

I was asked a couple of weeks ago to create a mani for a collage for Leila of @gryeyegoddess for her birthday. I was thrilled & jumped right in creating my mani.

The color I'm using today is Owlette Le by Nail Hoot, a red shimmer polish.
I started off using 2 coats of Owlette Le followed by 1 coat topcoat. Once dry I applied owl water decals onto each nail & followed up with 1 more coat of topcoat.

Inside lighting
I picked this color & the decals because I was told Leila loves red & owls so I thought this was perfect.
Also seriously love using water decals! Super easy & super cute!

Meet The Blogger: Meet Krystal Of Queen Of Nails 83

I'm back! I took a mini blogging break & now I'm ready to junk right back in!

For today's Meet The Blogger it's Krystal of Queen Of Nails 83. She a new blogger that I've gotten to know over the last couple of months, seriously her swatches are amazing!

I am so sorry that I didn't get this back to you sooner. I don't know what happened...I totally spaced out!

What make you start a blog? My husband got tired of hearing my talk his ear off about polish and I had other swatchers/bloggers and family members telling me I should start one.

How long have you been blogging? Almost 5 months

What would you say makes your blog unique? I try give more than just swatches and a review. I try to make everyone feel welcomed from the newbie just starting in the indie world to the veteran who has been around since the first indie brand.

What's your favorite part of having a blog? I get to express myself, totally and freely. I blog as if I were talking to friends. Meeting new people and being able to develop relationships with other nail addicts...lol

Have you ever reviewed a product that has become something you use all the time? Yes, Vapid! The Digit Dust is amazing.

What would you say is the downside of blogging? The time it takes to write photos and the review.

Do you have a least favorite post that you've written? Not as of yet.

What is something you have to have while writing a blog post? Examples music, watching netflicks, drinking tea ect. I write sporadically. As soon as I get my swatch packet I start taking notes on my phone and then I blog all at once. Once I am ready to pust all my notes together, I always have a hot cup of tea ☕️.

Do you think your blog has changed of the years? Still too new to have many changes but I have added nail art and different finishes to my swatches to show customers options

Are you married? Yes, happily for almost 3 years.

Do you have any kids and/or pets? 3 kids, Xavier 13, Xylana 9 and Xadrian 5. We also just added Dallas our beagle, hound mix

Any advice for new bloggers? Be your authentic self. Do not change or compromise for anyone! Don't compare yourself to others, be the best you! Lastly, be honest in your review.

Thanks so much for being a part of Meet The Blogger Krystal! You can find her at her blog & the following social media pages.

4 Years & Counting by Turtle Tootsie Polishes,
A pink scattered holo polish.
I started off using 2 coats of Huckleberry Hooch followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry I applied a butterfly stencil from Toadarrific Vinyls onto 2 nails & applied 2 coats of 4 Years & Counting. I waited a few minutes then removed the stencils & applied 1 more coat of topcoat.

Sharpie Dots with Anchor & Heart Lacquer & Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer

I recently read a blog post where someone used a sharpie to create nail art. This is such a cool consept! So of course I had to try it. I mean what kind of a blogger am I if I don't right?

The colors I'm using today are:
Snowflake Kisses by Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer, a silvery white base filled with silver holo glitters.
Mermaid Kisses by Anchor & Heart Lacquer,a bubblegum pink with violet shifting glass flecks & shimmer.

I started off using 2 coats of Snowflaw Kisses on my ring & pointer fingers & 2 coats of Mermaid Kisses on the rest of my nails followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry, using a gold sharpie I drew dots on all my nails followed by 1 more coat of topcoat.
Outside lighting

No inside lighting pictures today, I took these then went back to bed to sleep off this cold.

Overall I like using a sharpie for nail art. Only 1 thing though, I should have waited longer before applying topcoat because it did smear the sharpie in some spots.

Meet The Blogger: Meet Nimi of Hair Care Square

Happy Tuesday! For today's Meet The Blogger its Nimi of Hair Care Square
Hair Care Square just celebrated a milestone, it's 1 year Anniversary!

What make you start a blog?
I used to write blog posts for my colleague and that used to rank well in Google. Then he and I started new blog in partnership and One thing lead to another now I have this hair care niche blog.

How long have you been blogging?
I am blogger from past 6+years but started my niche blog exactly one year before.

What would you say makes your blog unique?
I write about hair care on my blog and come up with the most unique diys for hair care. Plus I negotiate with brands and come up with some of the best deals on best products around the world exclusively for my readers.

What's your favorite part of having a blog?
Meeting new people. I love when my readers mail me their hair and skin care problems. I just love it when my readers send me handmade cards. Just the best feeling in the world.. Makes me feel like I have achieved my blogging goals.

Have you ever reviewed a product that has become something you use all the time?
Yes. I have come across some absolutely amazing products but my favorites are Argan dew's argan oil & hair mask and Neesh's pocket perfume.I just cant resist buying them again and again.

What would you say is the downside of blogging?
Too much of work. Honestly it gets really overwhelming at times. The blog posts, social media, monetization. There is just so much work. Sometimes I just spend my whole day making changes to my blog and at the end of the day its like I wasted my whole day doing useless stuff for my blog.

Do you have a least favorite post that you've written?
Yes, I did a post on how to curl your hair without heat using your old t-shirt and for some reason, I just hate that post.

What is something you have to have while writing a blog post? Examples music, watching netflicks, drinking tea ect
My cellphone, cup of tea and my perfume. I just can't do it without my perfume. I just apply it and feel really happy and positive while writing.

Do you think your blog has changed of the years?
It gave me my identity, financial independence, lots of friends and tons of free beauty products ;-)

What was it like finding out you were getting press samples for the first time?
I received hair extensions from a brand that too while I just had about 7 blog posts on my blog. IT was a huge achievement for me. I danced for a week and used to wear those extensions all the time. ;-)

Are you married?
I am about to get married this year to a very special and most romantic guy in the world. I just couldn't be happier.

Do you have any kids and/or pets?
I have a baby girl dog and she is just the best thing that happened to me. Whenever I feel sad, she just has some power to sense it and she would start pampering me so much. I feel everything is write with the world again.

Any advice for new bloggers?
I am actually starting a new series on my blog called "Beauty Blogging" where I share my blogging secrets. But until then my advice would be to
1. just take out 20 minutes each day for your blog's design and don't invest more time on that.
2. Focus on your content and social media especially Instagram. I got lot of sponsored posts for my blog via Instagram. Its just the most amazing social media platform out there.
3. Keep a media kit ready even if you are a new blog. This makes you stand out from the crowd and helps in making a really good impression. When I first sent mine, I was only blogging for a month or two and it helped me land a sponsored post.
4. Also invest at least 1 hour each day, to make new blogging friends. And I don't mean participating in blogger threads for 'Like4Like' but actual real connection. Help a friend, share their posts, include their posts in your blog. Trust me this investment is going to take you a really long way.

Thanks so much for being apart of Meet The Blogger Nimi! You can find her at her blog & the following social media pages.

Fall Nails with Julep & Top Shelf Lacquer

It's finally starting to feel like fall over here! To celebrate this amazing weather I'm doing a fall theme mani of course:)

The colors I'm using today are:
Hot Toddy by Top Shelf Lacquer,
A rich burgundy with gold glass fleck, holo dust and multiple colors of flakies.
Goldie by Julep,
A Full-coverage gilded microglitter gold polish.
I started off by using 2 coats Goldie on my outside nails & 2 coats of Hot Toddy on my inside nails followed by 1 coat of topcoat.
Once dried I applied nail tape at an angle & applied the opposite color on one side of the nail tape( so if the nail had Hot Toddy I applied Goldie on one side & visa versa.) I removed the nail tape & applied 1 more coat of topcoat.
Outside lighting
Excuse my hand position, I'm not use to this bottle shape
Inside lighting
10 takes later I was finally happy with this picture lol.
Overall I'm happy with how this turned out. I keep saying I've been neglecting my juleps but honestly I wish julep would go back to using the old formulas like Goldie. Goldie was perfection to use, no issues, applied easily, no staining ect. Whenever I get a new julep polish I end up selling it or giving it away because I'm not happy with it.
Maybe one day julep will but until then there are other polish brands for me to use.

Hot Toddy is available at
Top Shelf Lacquer.com

Goldie is available at
