Owls Galore with Nail Hoot

I was asked a couple of weeks ago to create a mani for a collage for Leila of @gryeyegoddess for her birthday. I was thrilled & jumped right in creating my mani.

The color I'm using today is Owlette Le by Nail Hoot, a red shimmer polish.
I started off using 2 coats of Owlette Le followed by 1 coat topcoat. Once dry I applied owl water decals onto each nail & followed up with 1 more coat of topcoat.

I picked this color & the decals because I was told Leila loves red & owls so I thought this was perfect.
Also seriously love using water decals! Super easy & super cute!

Sharpie Dots with Anchor & Heart Lacquer & Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer

I recently read a blog post where someone used a sharpie to create nail art. This is such a cool consept! So of course I had to try it. I mean what kind of a blogger am I if I don't right?

The colors I'm using today are:
Snowflake Kisses by Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer, a silvery white base filled with silver holo glitters.
Mermaid Kisses by Anchor & Heart Lacquer,a bubblegum pink with violet shifting glass flecks & shimmer.

I started off using 2 coats of Snowflaw Kisses on my ring & pointer fingers & 2 coats of Mermaid Kisses on the rest of my nails followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry, using a gold sharpie I drew dots on all my nails followed by 1 more coat of topcoat.
Outside lighting

No inside lighting pictures today, I took these then went back to bed to sleep off this cold.

Overall I like using a sharpie for nail art. Only 1 thing though, I should have waited longer before applying topcoat because it did smear the sharpie in some spots.

Outside lighting

Aren't the owls cute?

Inside lighting

I picked Blue Hawiian & owls because Stephanie love Tiffany blue & owls, so I figured this was perfect. Also this was the first time I've ever used water slides before! I can't believe I hadn't tried it sooner, I'm hooked! It was so easy anyone can do it.

Fall Nails with Julep & Top Shelf Lacquer

It's finally starting to feel like fall over here! To celebrate this amazing weather I'm doing a fall theme mani of course:)

The colors I'm using today are:
Hot Toddy by Top Shelf Lacquer,
A rich burgundy with gold glass fleck, holo dust and multiple colors of flakies.
Goldie by Julep,
A Full-coverage gilded microglitter gold polish.
I started off by using 2 coats Goldie on my outside nails & 2 coats of Hot Toddy on my inside nails followed by 1 coat of topcoat.
Once dried I applied nail tape at an angle & applied the opposite color on one side of the nail tape( so if the nail had Hot Toddy I applied Goldie on one side & visa versa.) I removed the nail tape & applied 1 more coat of topcoat.
Outside lighting
Excuse my hand position, I'm not use to this bottle shape
Inside lighting
10 takes later I was finally happy with this picture lol.
Overall I'm happy with how this turned out. I keep saying I've been neglecting my juleps but honestly I wish julep would go back to using the old formulas like Goldie. Goldie was perfection to use, no issues, applied easily, no staining ect. Whenever I get a new julep polish I end up selling it or giving it away because I'm not happy with it.
Maybe one day julep will but until then there are other polish brands for me to use.

Blue Bears With Turtle Tootsie Polishes

Today's mani was inspired from a different mani I did a couple of months ago. Do you remember my pink bear nails? If not click  Here Well, I joined Pinterest recently & once I finally got the hang of it I was shocked to see my pink bear nails were going viral! So today I'm trying it out with a different color.

The color I'm using today is Winter Blues by Turtle Tootsie Polishes,
A linear holographic blue polish

I started off using 2 coats of Winter Blues followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry, using tweezers I applied the panda decals from Toadarrific vinyls then applied 1 more coat of topcoat.

Inside lighting

I'll admit the 1st bear doesn't look like a bear but more like a puppy but still it came out pretty cute. And how pretty is Winter Blues? And no staining & no issues at all!

Disney Shadows with SupermMoon Lacquer

Happy Monday everyone!
Today I'm  babysitting so I have my nails ready to entertain! It's so cute to see littles kids reaction to my nails, it's like they are looking at magic. Best part is when they ask their mom "how does she do that?" which she says I have no idea!

Cosmic Dust by SuperMoon Lacquer,
A subtle multichrome with a matching shimmer that shifts in color from red-violet, to magenta, to dark red-orange.
I started off with 2 coats of Cosmic Dust followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry using tweezers I applied the Disney decals from Toadarrific Vinyls onto each nail then sealed it with 1 more coat of topcoat.

Subtle & Bold with Blush Lacquer & Anchor & Heart Lacquer

I was feeling creative today! I wanted to wear a blue polish but wanted to pair with another polish to help make it pop.

The colors I'm using today are I'm No Clown by Blush Lacquer, A light neon pink jelly .
Sunday Morning by Anchor & Heart Lacquer, a delicate pale blue creme featuring purple micro glitter, lavender and turquoise micro flakies, and scattered holo pigment.
I started off using 2 coats of I'm No Clown on every other nail & 2 coats of Sunday Morning on the rest followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dried, using tweezers I applied 5 pearl gems from Julep on the nails that had Sunday Morning. The pearls are self sticking so there was no need to add a topcoat of glue to the bottom of the pearls.
Outside lighting
I think I'm No Clown really goes well with Sunday Morning.
Inside Lighting
Oops, the pearls look a little uneven.
All in all I'm very pleased with how this mani came out. I got to thinking though, wouldn't Sunday Morning & the pearls look great for a wedding day look?

Holo Stripes with Nail Hoot

I went thru my untried polishes today! And well, there's a few colors that need some love so today's I played with 2 untried polishes.

The colors I'm using today are :

Nebula by Nail Hoot, a scattered blue holo with shimmer polish.

Galatic Center by Nail Hoot, a scattered red holo with shimmer polish.

I started off using 2 coats of Nebula followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dried I applied 1 straight line stencil by Toadarrific Vinyls then I applied 2 coats of Galatic Center, I waited about 1 minute then removed the stencil & applied 1 more coat of topcoat.

Outside lighting

Seriously loving Nebula in this picture!

Inside lighting

Sorry for the glare in the picture.

Sooooo pretty! I'm wishing I would have added straight lines to at least 1 more nail.
And I had no issues with these 2 polishes.

Butterflies Ombré with Vapid Lacquer & Model City Polishes

It happened again. I had an idea but once I executed it it didn't come out as I had planned. But it still turned out pretty good.

The colors I'm using today are
Himalayan Poppy by Model City Polishes,a bright sky blue crelly with blue flakies and splash of holographic pigment.
Doheny by Vapid Lacquer, a Yellow jelly polish shimmering with a linear holographic rainbows.
I started off with 2 coats of Himalayan Poppy on my outside nails & 2 coats of Doheny on my inside nails followed by 1 coat of topcoat. Once dry I applied a little bit of Himalayan Poppy on a sponge & applied to the nails that had Doney.
Next I applied several Butterfly decals from Toadarrific Vinyls & Vinyl It Up! on each nail then applied 1 more coat of topcoat.

Outside lighting
I was hoping it would look like the sky.
My first attempt at a macro! Not bad right? There is definitely room for improvement:
Inside lighting
I'm loving Doheny in this picture.
My original idea was add the blue on top of yellow to make it look like the sun & the sky. Granted it didn't turn out the way I planned but I think it turned out pretty cute.
