I've been sucked down the indie rabbit hole that I've really haven't touched mainstream polish. But I've been eyeing Essie's Retro Revial line, mainly because I've been hearing about it since December. Well last week I finally saw them instore so I picked up a couple. The color I'll be showing you today is Bikini With A Martini, a frosted pink iridescent polish.
I used 3 coats plus 1 coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat.
Honestly, it's pretty but that's it. 3 coats & it still looked sheer. Plus it took forever to dry, I had to touch them up twice because it smudge so easily & it had been 15 minutes since I had applied the topcoat. The brush was small, maybe it's me because I've gotten used to a wide flat brush but this brush was pretty small.
Maybe I should just stick with indies.
Bikini With A Martini is available at Walgreens, Amazon & Essie.com
Once you get used to how great indie polish is, it's hard to buy mainstream.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it would look like over a dark color...like black or navy. The shimmery color would really pop then. I have a visible nail line fear and I'm too lazy to do anymore than 2 coats. The color is gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteThe color is pretty but it would drive me crazy how sheer it is. Essie polishes are always hit or miss.
ReplyDeleteBummer about the sheer formula...but it looks pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice for a palette cleanser polish! Pretty.
ReplyDeleteI very rarely get intrigued by a mainstream polish anymore, and essies have always been misses for me. It looks so pretty in the bottle, though!
ReplyDeleteMeh. This one is just okay to me. Way too sheer for my liking!
